Women of Soul White House 2014: Day 1

Our adventure began in Honolulu in the evening at Honolulu International Airport. I think the families were even more excited than we were. Thank you to everyone who packed snacks and food for our flight.

We took a almost 5 hour flight to LA, then over 4 hours to D.C. . . . yes that was snow on the ground. We expected cold temperatures, but it was not as bad as we (or I) thought it was going to be.

We waited for shuttle (with our boxes of Omiyage) to our hotel and then went out on the Metro for a celebration dinner at a Brazilian Steakhouse courtesy of Gerald Lum and PVT Land. Dinner was fabulous and we headed back to hotel to get some much needed rest.
